I read with interest your article on taking a postgrad degree (‘Masters of the Universe’, CM, July/August). However I would make one point. In the penultimate paragraph you state: ‘You may have permission from your employer but do you have permission from your wife?’
I ask you! Are you perpetuating the belief that construction is only for men, or are you in fact suggesting that it is only men who have the capability to study for a Masters? Just curious. As a woman in construction, I believe that not only would I have permission from my partner, but also the aptitude to undertake a Masters should I choose to.
I would appreciate if you would make consideration for all of your readers and not marginalise the female minority.
