I refer to the BSJ article “At your disposal” (BSj, 01/07), concentrating on industrial/commercial recycling schemes for lamps and luminaires.

Now the government is actively promoting the fitting and use of energy-saving miniature fluorescent luminaires. These are clearly marked as not to be tipped in the domestic household rubbish bin. Over the whole country, there is going to be a massive number of luminaires to recycle. Although manufactured mainly in China, many are branded by the retailers Morrison, B&Q and so on.

This begs the question – what schemes are available for domestic products?
