I commend Mitchell Howard’s hope for Gillingham FC and the possibility of wider development of their current ground – it is good if more social housing can be provided (28 May, page 23).

I do wonder, though, if MHS’ ability to provide sponsorship to the Gills has anything to do with them not being registered with the Housing Corporation.

Might this be an advantage of freedom from the hand of the regulator?
