Fire detection systems

Bosch Security Systems’ 500 Series fire detectors have recently been installed at the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels, a cultural meeting point complete with concert halls, art galleries, studios and multi-purpose spaces for the staging of music, dance, film, theatre and various literature events.

The Bosch detectors were chosen because they are practically invisible once mounted in the ceiling, a prerequisite on this project given the historical nature of the structure – an “architectural masterpiece” built in the 1920s and conceived by celebrated architect Victor Horta. The detectors use two optical measuring paths outside of the housing for fire detection instead of internal smoke chambers, thus no dirt or dust is able to penetrate into the sealed housing. This helps greatly in guaranteeing reliable, no-interference operation.

These detectors were installed during restoration work which recreated central parts of the building in their original state. Due to their unobtrusive design, modules in the Bosch Security Systems 500 Series are ideal for art galleries, museums and hotels.
