The detector behind the mask

OPTEX EUROPE HAS LAUNCHED THE CX-502AM Plus – a ‘fit-and-forget’ passive infrared detector for Grade 3 applications that features an advanced spherical lens protection technology for optimum anti-masking performance.

The new detectors also feature a double conductive shielding capability and Quad Zone Logic technology that offers maximum immunity to sunlight and RFI (and minimum false alarms caused by spot temperature changes).

Optex’s patented spherical lens protection technology enables consistent sensitivity against the surface of the PIR lens. For its part, Quad Zone Logic creates a much higher vertical zone density than is usually available. This allows an entire body mass of a person to be detected, and the smallest contrasts in temperature between the individual and their background to be discerned. The detection density also takes into account ‘dead zones’.
