The fun began on arrival, as James Bond characters Oddjob and Jaws greeted guests in their own inimitable style, with back-up from our very own Bond girls.
There were 18 awards categories and among the first winners, presented before the gourmet dinner, was the 2003 apprentice of the year David Payne of Melcon Hereford.
The champagne flowed as broadcaster and comedian Jeremy Hardy continued the presentations. Haden Young achieved success for the third year running in the major m&e contractor category, while E&B Engineering Services Group was named m&e contractor of the year. The ECA and Select capped a successful year with two awards in recognition of their HNC in contracting management: the training award and the overall award for building services best practice.
Guests partied into the night, raising money for the EEIBA at the now famous charity casino, racing on a giant scalectrix track or dancing to the house band.
Well done to all of this year's finalists and if you missed out on the party this time, get ready for next year.
