A funny thing happened to me on my way back from a baroque classical music concert at Cadogan Hall recently.
I left during the interval, as the strength of Vaudeville-like entertainment value of watching the harpsichord player wildly gesticulating over his instrument, while not being able to hear a single note from a stall seat, began to wear thin. On the Tube on the way home I opened the newly arrived BSj and was richly rewarded reading the scope of the Cadogan Hall renovation, including the acoustic expert’s input. Have I missed something here?
I contacted Cadogan Hall the next day. A pr man thanked me in return, grateful for my input, and explained that they are on a learning curve with various types of concerts put on show. Some they win others they lose.
