Access control system manufacturer Time and Data Systems International Limited (TDSi) has been acquired from Upperpoint Manufacturing Limited by the TDSi management team.

John Davies, managing director of TDSi, said the management buyout would be to the benefit of the company and customers alike.

"As an independent entity TDSi will be able to benefit from the best of two worlds," he said. "The company will be in a strong position to continue and strengthen our trading relationships with Upperpoint companies, and at the same time push forward with our growth and product innovation plans without recourse to competing for group resources. Our channel partners will continue to receive the high standard of service they have come to expect. TDSi looks forward to building on these standards and to the provision of new innovations in access control and integrated security systems."

TDSi was established in 1992 to develop technologies and product applications related to time and attendance and access control.
