5:00PM Firm acting for KPMG on new 15 Canada Square block

Turner & Townsend has acted as project manager on KPMG’s pre-purchase of a £260m building from Canary Wharf Developments. T&T will now stay on the 402,000 sq ft project at 15 Canada Square for KPMG. The building is due to be completed by CWG by April 2009.

Designed by architect KPF, the 15-storey building is clad in high-efficiency, solar-control glass and architectural metal. It features a full height atrium space which responds to KPMG's desire to create an environment that encourages collaboration, networking and transparency. It will include sustainable elements aimed at ensuring the building far exceeds targets set in the new part L regulations.

T&T has acted as KPMG's project manager since the project's inception in early 2005. T&T undertook an accommodation search exercise, a review of the developer's proposals and more recently, it supported KPMG's team in negotiations of the sale agreement. Turner & Townsend also managed the design team developing the design of the fit-out as well as undertaking a due diligence exercise of the Canary Wharf building design proposals.

The firm is retained for the remainder of the project due for completion in 2010, which includes the monitoring of the fit-out works, project management of the fit-out design and delivery through to migration of approximately 4,000 staff from across the existing London estate.
