HellermannTyton has launched its TR27 range of heat-shrinkable tubing, aimed at electrical contractors working in the rail sector.

TR27 is a high-spec, low-smoke and halogen-free product, which provides maximum protection for rail applications, where extremes of temperature, moisture and vibrations can cause cable insulations to deteriorate.

The black, thin-walled tubing has a shrink ratio of 2:1 and is available in a range of diameters from 3.2 mm to 50.8 mm.

The range is for situations where the cable jacket is exposed and needs protection, for example, around a join or termination. The tubing is applied by a heat gun.

The range has self-extinguishing and flame- retardant properties and has been tested and approved to the London Underground Engineering Standard E1042:A6.
