Speaking at T Clarke's AGM, chair Russell Race expressed satisfaction at current trading and forecast a surge in business. He said: "The year has started well.
There is a positive outlook in the commercial development sector, and we are pleased to report that our other regional markets remain upbeat.
"The board is confident that the Group will report an upturn in our order book through the latter half of 2006. Our current pipeline of work is strong. We are anticipating a sharp upturn in the number of high quality projects commencing in 2007 and 2008 which will increase the demand for our specialist services in the build up to 2012."
Adding as cautionary note, he also acknowledged the escalation in prices for copper and steel, and, the perceived threat of skilled labour shortages, but felt confident that T Clarke had taken steps to mitigate any risks.
