The second annual Sustainable Building Services Awards were celebrated in style last month

BDP was crowned Sustainable Consultancy of the Year at the Sustainable Building Services Awards 2008. Marcus Brigstocke, host of BBC4’s The Late Edition, made the presentation at London’s Dorchester Hotel last month.

Atelier 10 scooped International Project of the Year for Yale Sculpture School, New Haven, Connecticut while Arup won the Innovation category for TrussFloor, a demountable, reusable flooring system that can be adjusted to optimise the height of the floor void.

Cundall’s David Clarke, who is based in Australia, was Sustainable Champion of the Year. The award was collected by his UK colleague Ian Matthews. Speaking from Australia later, Clarke said: “I couldn’t have won without the support and encouragement of my colleagues. The award recognises the approach and passion we bring to sustainability, in our projects and the operation of our company.”
