Where are the garages, utility areas, good – rather than adequate – storage, ground-floor toilets that wheelchair users can use with dignity, living rooms with enough space for a family and furniture?
Housebuilding starts may be at a low, but let’s think of giving people more say over what’s provided – let consumers drive up standards. The news that private developers will get social housing grant suggests the agenda is once again more about quantity rather than quality. I hope I’m wrong.
