Faber Maunsell engineers have helped to secure a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating for the new Global HQ of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB).
The consultancy was appointed to provide the building services, structures, sustainability and acoustics for the Cat A/B fit-outs on the project, utilising low energy technologies, such one of the first installations of EC/DC (direct current) motors in fan coil units (FCU).

Faber Maunsell project manager, David van Niekerk, said: “Typically the focus of a financial building is to deliver a high level of resilience but it was enlightening and extremely satisfying to have a client committed to low energy as well.”
The redevelopment and fit-out of One Basinghall Avenue will provide around 20,000 sq m of office space.
