Space programme: This £3.5m scheme is being built in Erith, south-east London, by Orbit Housing Association. The 23 apartments were designed by local architect BPTW and the contractor is Hills Partnerships.

The scheme has £2.4m in funding from the Housing Corporation's Kickstart fund for off-site manufacturing. The steel modules are being built by manufacturer Yorkon and will have terracotta tiling and timber cladding.

Work will start on site in April and the development will be complete in December.

Orbit has also bought an adjoining site where it plans to build 32 similar flats.
