Martin Shouler paid tribute to the hard work put in by members of SoPHE at its AGM, held on 27 June.
“SoPHE has a much raised profile within the industry,” said Martin. Membership of the Society is up by 40%, the Government has involved SoPHE in its Part G working group and employers are increasingly looking for membership as a mark of competence and excellence of achievement.
“We are no longer a fledgling society,” noted Martin.
SoPHE is currently working with the Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineers to develop an undergraduate degree course at Greenwich University.
Longstanding members Jim Buckmaster, Bill Bumstead and past CIBSE CEO Julian Amey were awarded Hon. Fellowships. Ian Fellingham received his Fellow Membership, while the existing board members and committee were unanimously re-elected.
