A £94m regeneration of Dartford town centre was given the go-ahead by the council last week. The Lowfield Street scheme will include 15,000 m2 of shopping space and about 500 homes, of which 30% will be affordable.

A new pedestrianised Market Square will link the development to existing landmarks such as the library, war memorial and central park. The possible developers are St James’s Investments and Crest Nicholson. The architect is Michael Aukett.
