South Liverpool Housing is to appoint a consultant to investigate allegations of mismanagement circulated in an anonymous letter.
Chairman David Green said the board believed there was “no substance whatsoever” in the allegations made in the letter.
The board held a special meeting earlier this week to consider the allegations, sent out last week and seen by Housing Today.
Green said in a statement: “The board has agreed to appoint an independent consultant to investigate and report back on the allegations as a matter of urgency.”
SLH has discussed the allegations with the Housing Corporation, which said it was happy for the registered social landlord to investigate as long as it followed corporation guidance.
The letter followed SLH’s decision to cut 14 jobs and make savings of £1m after it was hit by spiralling right to acquire sales (HT 23 July, page 11).
