Sick Building Syndrome doesn't exist; it's people's jobs that make them ill.
These are the findings of a study into London civil servants' health, involving more than 4,000 people in 44 buildings. Respondents were asked to list which symptoms of Sick Building Syndrome they had experienced in the last 14 days, and buildings were checked for things like temperature, fungi, airborne bacteria and ventilation flows. But the survey found there were no significant links between these factors and people with high Sick Building Syndrome ‘scores'. The linking factors to the symptoms were job stress and lack of support.
