Chesterfield Borough Council has notched-up 21 low window-maintenance years with the Sheerframe PVC-U window system.
An assessment of its very first installation revealed window frames in excellent condition.
More than two decades on, the windows installed at the first properties in the programme are still performing well and are aesthetically sound.
It was in Burnbridge Road in Whittington that Sheerframe windows made their debut in the borough. Today, the same windows are still making a
significant contribution to the comfort and thermal efficiency of the homes. Even though it is an earlier design of the Sheerframe profile, the energy performance of the windows is still sufficient under the tougher regulations for window design in 2006.
