Housing and regeneration organisations have won places on The Sunday Times’ lists of the UK’s best companies to work for.
London & Quadrant Housing Group came 29th in the top 100 employers. Private firm and housing estate manager Pinnacle was 43rd, housebuilder Westbury was 74th and contractor and property services firm MJ Gleeson came 19th.

Pinnacle chief executive Jon Swinney said: “A substantial chunk of our staff are people who have transferred from local authorities.

“Not only have they made the change with ease, but are clearly enjoying the experience of working with the private sector.”

Bromford Housing Group, which came fifth last year, did not appear in the 2004 ranking.

In the list of the best 50 small companies to work for, Ridings Housing Association came ninth, Irwell Valley Housing Association was 17th and regeneration company Urban Splash was 18th.
