A refurbishment of Scarborough’s Rotunda Museum is due to begin in April 2006.
Monk Dunstone Associates has been appointed planning supervisor for the project, which has achieved a stage one pass.
With a £1.9m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the museum will be internally redesigned to improve the display areas.
The grant has been matched by the fund-raising efforts of the Scarborough Museum Trust, which wants the museum to be made into a fitting home for the William Smith geological collection.
