Mitie has been appointed as the security partner to The Roman Baths, in Bath. The contract will see Mitie managing the provision of manned security and CCTV monitoring at the site.

The contract began in October, and the Roman Baths and Mitie have worked closely together to develop the skills for dealing with the public and to provide any associated training.

As well as ensuring safety on the site by being the first point of contact, the security team are often called upon to act as tourist information guides, giving directions and suggestions of the top places to eat and visit in and around Bath.

Tom Byrne, security manager for the Roman Baths, said: "Mitie's guards are fully integrated with our own Visitor Services Teams and have played a key role in making sure visitors feel safe while also time managing access to the building in the evening."
