Anglia Housing Group chief executive Mark Rogers is set to take the reins of one of the UK’s biggest housing associations after the merger of Anglia and Circle 33.
The merger, which will create a 32,000-unit landlord, will go to the Housing Corporation for approval next May.
Donald Hoodless, Circle 33’s 62-year-old chief executive, will retire after the link-up is complete.
All the appointments will be scrutinised by a selection panel and approved by the shadow board of the new group.
But Rogers, who was Circle 33’s director of customer services for six years, is highly likely to get the job.
Hoodless said: “I don’t think the merger would have taken place if [Rogers] wasn’t regarded as a good fit and I was happy to stand down.”
Rogers said: “I am delighted to be given this opportunity if we merge.” He said discussions on salary and conditions had not yet taken place.
The new association will have a turnover of more than £115m (HT 1 October, page 9).
