4:45PM Kingston's One School scheme given go-ahead

RLF is celebrating winning planning permission for the £23m redevelopment of Chessington Community College from the borough of Kingston upon Thames.

The One School Pathfinder project has won planning just four months after commissioning. It is one of 13 One School Pathfinders announced by the department for education and skills last October under the Building Schools for the Future initiative.

The scheme is due for completion in September 2008. RLF is the project QS.The project team is being led by building consultants Tuffin Ferraby Taylor and includes IID Architects, structural consultants David Osborne Associates, M&E consultants Faber Maunsell, and landscape architects Ireland Associates.

TFT partner Paul Raymont said: “To have achieved full planning within four months of being commissioned is a remarkable achievement, which shows the effectiveness of a collaborative approach.”
