With EN 50131-1 soon to make a major impact on the intruder alarms sector, the British Security Industry Association is organising a number of seminars to inform intruder alarm installers, manufacturers and end users about the standard, its format and the likely effects of its introduction.

“The industry and its customer base needs to prepare for the fundamental changes that will impact from October 2005,” states BSIA technical director Alex Carmichael. “There will be more changes ahead over the coming years, and the intruder alarm sector must look to take advantage of the opportunities available now to learn about them. This will then help them to plan ahead for any impact on their business.”

The Association’s forthcoming series of seminars covering EN 50131-1 will include presentations by expert speakers from intruder alarm installer companies, manufacturers, Alarm Receiving Centres and the BSIA (thereby providing attendees with a plethora of indispensable information and advice).

The Association’s seminars will run on the following dates:

5 July: Novotel Glasgow Central

6 July: Novotel Manchester West

12 July: Novotel Coventry

14 July: Thistle Hotel, St Albans
