Multi-disciplinary firm Ridge has completed work on the £19.5m Swindon Police Station for Wiltshire Policy Authority.

The building comprises 8,000 sq m of accommodation for operational and support staff, 40 detention cells and a vulnerable persons unit.

Located on the A420 at South Marston on the outskirts of Swindon, the building’s cost was £18m, with a further £1.5m spent on site servicing and highways work. Ridge acted as technical adviser to the police on the preparation of the output specification prior to contract close.

The firm was also responsible for maintaining building quality and dealing with snagging and defects, both during and after construction.
