2:35PM Davidson Group sells two of its businesses to expanding consultant

Ridge has acquired two Birmingham businesses: The Davidson Partnership and Cook Denning Management. Both companies are subsidiaries of the Davidson Group.

Partners and directors of The Davidson Partnership and Cook Denning are Peter Cook, Ross Denning and Greg Fanning. Cook will stay on as a consultant, while both Denning and Fanning will continue in Birmingham as partners of Ridge.

The move allows Ridge to expand into the Midlands. It will retain all staff at both firms.

The Davidson Partnership was formed in 1964 as a quantity surveying and project management practice. It claims to have a substantial portfolio of blue chip clients and woks extensively in the pharmaceutical sector.

Cook Denning was established in 1994 as the health and safety division of the Davidson Group to offer planning supervision and other H&S related services.

Until now the Davidson Group comprised four businesses including The Davidson Partnership and Cook Denning. The two remaining arms of the group are Davidson Management, a project management operation, and Pace Group, a design management and procurement consultancy.

Phil Jones, senior partner of Ridge said: “This acquisition is a significant step forward in the ongoing growth of Ridge. The Davidson Partnership is a successful, dynamic firm; its acquisition will help to extend Ridge’s presence in the West Midlands. It is a good fit both geographically and in terms of complementing our skill set and disciplines. We shall continue the good work for all our existing clients, whilst growing the business and creating more opportunities within team Ridge.”
