The RICS has increased its hold on cost information by buying data provider Wessex Electronic Publishing.
The new acquisition, bought from HIS Technical Indexes, will see Wessex become part of RICS cost arm the BCIS, which operates under RICS Business Services, the commercial arm of the institution. Wessex will retain its office and staff in Dorset, despite the acquisition.
BCIS general manager Andrew Thompson said the firm was now looking forward to delivering even more cost information to its customers. “Wessex has a fantastic database of resource cost data that will help us to refine our products.
It is an exciting time for us.”
