I think those developers who are competent and well run do know which buildings over the past 10-12 years have cladding issues and what those cladding issues could be. Beyond that and back to the 30 years Gove’s team is requiring it becomes much more difficult. Records are thin on the ground, Blocks and units have been sold multiple times, cyclical and planned maintenance has occurred often with no records or thoughts to record keeping.

There seem to be numerous and disparate attempts on trying to identify cladding, what happened to the list the Government demanded from Local Authorities? what about information reported to Homes England (and it’s predecessors) for their compliance and central recording purposes. What about information requested by Building Insurers? The EWS1 survey records?

If everybody worked together and Gove’s team showed some true cross sector leadership then this could all be addressed much faster
