PVC Sales Ltd is set to take on the profile market with its own range of building products under Renaissance branding

One company that has benefited from the demise of Premier Profiles, is PVC Sales Ltd. Part of the PVC Group; PVC Sales bought some of the machinery from Premier, which was used to produce the Procell range of profile.

As well documented in Glass Age, Procell had a catalogue of problems with PVC ‘pinking’ but, as part of the PVC Group plc, PVC Sales have been well-equipped to sort out these problems of discolouration.

The PVC Group is a one-stop-shop that deals with every aspect of the PVC industry, from the import and sale of resin (Polyimpex), through the production and export of compound (Polycol), extrusion (Eagley Plastics), distribution of building products (PVC Sales) and, to complete the loop, the recycling of PVC-U (PVC Powders Ltd).

With the weight of experience and expertise of the group behind them, PVC Sales has set about correcting the quality and tooling problems that existed within the Procell range; changed from lead to more eco-friendly calcium-zinc stabilizers; and have now relaunched the complete building products range under well-known Renaissance branding.

The company is actively pursuing BBA accreditation in line with the group philosophy of supplying quality products.

With a network of depots across the UK now emerging, including depots in Northern Ireland, North Wales and Glasgow, and another depot due to open in January in Sunderland, PVC Sales hope that the market will soon recognise the quality and price that they can offer.

With the price of PVC resin continuing to rise, PVC Sales are one of the few building product manufacturers that include a PVC resin importer within its group of companies. As PVC Sales Ltd MD Chris Makin comments, ‘Because we buy the raw material – we can offer the best value on the market’.

Because we buy the raw material - we can offer the best value on the market

Chris has high hopes for the new venture and is sure that despite lean times in the market and prohibitive energy costs, the Renaissance building products range will grow to become a highly successful arm of the group.

In fact, the company is so confident in its product, it is offering consignment stock to first time stockists on a sale or return basis.

Chris explains the thinking behind the new venture: ‘It is our intention to supply Renaissance Building Products to major Plastic Specialists throughout the UK.

‘Where we do not have customers in a particular location, we intend to supply direct through our own depots. The PVC Group's philosophy has always been to be a one-stop-shop for PVC needs. We will bring this philosophy to our Trade Counters to ensure we satisfy our customers’ needs’.
