If you missed Sanjeev Bhaskar’s excellent series on BBC2 to mark the 60th anniversary of India’s independence, you can get a wonderful flavour of the country from his book. It’s beautifully written and illustrated. Read it and you’ll be itching to go – I am predicting plenty of volunteers to accompany president Martin Chambers on his presidential visit there later this year.
