A small Devon-based outfit breaks into the ABI league while Davis Langdon manages to dominate both the QS and PM tables based on work won over the last 12 months

This month's rankings of consultants and clients sees the usual suspects dominating the top spots but there are some interesting new entries. Davis Langdon is now in pole position amongst both QSs and project managers, having won the largest volume of work in terms of contract value.

In a titanic struggle the firm has knocked rival big firm Gardiner & Theobald off the top spot in the project management league for the first time since QS News started running the tables last year. Davis Langdon has won £471m of PM work in the 12 months to date, compared to Gardiner & Theobald's £160m.

Davis Langdon won almost double the number of PM contracts - 19, compared to G&T's nine, leaving G&T in sixth place. One of the major contracts boosting Davis Langdon's standing in the rankings appears to be a deal it has just won to provide project management on a £350m development programme for Sanctuary Housing Group.

The scheme, expected to kick off this month, will focus on regeneration and refurbishment of care home, university and NHS Trust accommodation throughout the UK. Davis Langdon has put its Peterborough office on the job.

In the QS table, a new firm has entered the league in sixteenth position. Randall & Simmonds has won £88.5m of work in the past 12 months through nine contracts. The eight-strong company is based in Newton Abbott, south Devon and has been established for 25 years.
