Fifty-seven teenagers from five schools took place in the third May Gurney Challenge which was held at Brighton University.

The youngsters had to come up with ways to transport radioactive waste across an environmentally sensitive area.

They designed and built scale models and put them to the test in a series of races across an obstacle course built to replicate an inhospitable landscape. The winning team came from Sackville School.
