The partners in the Joint Industry Board, the ECA and Amicus, have put forward some radical ideas for making the organisation more relevant to today's working practices.

A lot has changed since 1968 and the historic national agreement between the two parties. Direct employment is on the wane and firms have branched out beyond electrical work.

Delegates at the 2006 conference put forward far-reaching ideas, including extending the agreement to hvac, plumbing and facilities management. Views on agency labour have softened and now might be the time to embrace agencies within the JIB.

The talk is done. Now it's the time for action.

The EMC publishing team constantly thinks about what you want to see in your magazine - but why don't you tell us yourselves?

In this month's issue, we include a short questionnaire giving you the chance to shape the look and content of the publication. We want to improve and to stay in tune with our readers' interests.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and help us to give you the publication you want. Oh, and you could win a digital camera worth £200.
