AD Group, parent company of Dedicated Micros, has been presented with the Queen's Award for Enterprise, in the Innovation category.

The award, given for TransVu, the company's mobile digital CCTV recorder, was presented by the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, William Bromley Davenport, to AD Group's chairman Nigel Petrie and founder and CEO Mike Newton.

Nigel Petrie said: "The requirement for such systems – to not only tackle traditional crime on the move but to ensure passenger against the background of the ongoing terrorist threat – was brought into sharp relief with the Madrid train bombings and the tragic events of 7/7.

"In the latter case the TransVu systems demonstrated their potential by providing the police with valuable digital CCTV evidence to assist them with their investigation."
