Frontier Pitts has developed an innovative range of perimeter entry control equipment that delivers cost-effective traffic management
- Perimeter protection
- Physical security
The necessary upgrade of site security has included the installation of automatic barriers for the Port’s car parking areas to control the ingress and egress of traffic. Ease of access for staff has had to be coupled with the security requirement for identifying visitors.
Frontier Pitts won the contract. The company’s FBX automatic barrier is ideally suited to controlling constant access to and from the car park of the 6700-acre, man-made warm water harbour.
On entry and exit, members of staff are detailed to use a card reader system to operate the barriers. Visitors, on the other hand, must report to the Security Lodge via the visitor lane. Once a visitor is identified, they’re then issued with a windscreen identification pass and the barrier will be operated by the security operatives stationed in the Lodge.
A vehicle induction loop system has been set within the road surface to ensure that the boom lowers safely once the vehicle has passed.
FBX barriers may be raised or lowered through a complete 90 degree arc in under two seconds.
