The Amida Health Centre, Twickenham
WHAT: Multi award-winning racquet and fitness spa in Hampton, Twickenham. Built within 70 acres of parkland, the site was originally home to Twickenham Golf Course but this was demolished and replaced with a new health and fitness centre incorporating a golfing area. Features include 17 sports courts, a 200-station gym, 25 m swimming pool and a nine-hole pay and play golf course.
HOW MUCH: £11m
PROJECT TEAM: QS and PM - Day & Johnson; Architect - Hoopers; Contractor - Pellikaan Construction; Interior designer - Corporate Edge.
WHEN: Work started in October 1998 and finished in December 2003.
CONTRACT: Design and Build
