Graphica scenes

Vista has released a Triplex2 compatible version of its Graphica software.

Graphica is a simple-to-use graphical user interface that acts as a virtual matrix. This allows multiple camera feeds from Triplex2 units on a network to be streamed onto the same graphical maps on a single or multiple PC network. JPEG or GIF images can be imported to represent layout of sites, building or floor plans, making it fully customisable to specific projects.

Triplex2 offers all of the existing Triplex features, but with greatly improved image quality, storage and network bandwidth utilisation. The new DVR is also available with high capacity DVD-R archiving options. The built-in DVD or CDR archive options allow for the rapid transfer of up to 4.7GB of video at the touch of a button without the need to install any additional playback software on the review PC.

Integration news

In partnership with France-based distributors CCF, Prysm has integrated the new version of its software AppVision.Net with Pelco's DX8000 DVR, Bosch's DiBos, and Nice Vision.

AppVision.Net is a multi-protocol command ad control system which uses a graphic interface to pilot various security and building management systems. It presents a 2D or 3D plan of a site or multiple sites over an IP network, allowing users to visualise camera positions etc. Clicking on an icon brings up a live feed from the camera's unique IP address.

It enables full PTZ control of domes via the graphic interface, and coordinates with motion detectors to trigger alarm events.

Paxton on the trigger

Paxton Access says that the new 'trigger and action' functionality within its Net2 networked access control system can directly reduce firms' energy bills.

As well as controlling access, the system can be used to configure lighting, heating and air conditioning systems, by integrating the Net2 I/O board with other building services so that particular actions are associated with particular 'triggers'.

As an example, when the final member of staff leaves a building, they can set the intruder alarm through Net2 – but this can be extended to adjust or switch off the heating, lighting or air conditioning systems.

With everything connected, the ‘trigger and action’ function is configured in the Net2 software.

Net2 can take control of the additional function momentarily, leaving the unit in the off or adjusted state, before passing control back to the function's own remote control panel for the next day.

Other actions can also be set. For instance, a user can bar use of the air-conditioning completely unless the outside temperature reaches a certain point. This can be measured with a thermostat outside the cooled zone connected to an input on a Net2 I/O board.
