Firstly, I would like to refer to the success of our work with Amec on the Continuing Process Improvement (CPI) initiative (EMC, November,). Ron Haldane of Amec is presenting at regional conferences on how CPI can improve business performance. Interest has been very encouraging.

The idea behind CPI is to think laterally to challenge what we do to find ways of improving productivity, cost, safety and quality.

We are now arranging one-day regional workshops for those contractors who would like to learn more. To register your interest, please speak to your regional manager.

Finally, our education and training department continues to drive improvement and provide the highest quality training courses. In the last month we have become a City & Guilds Approved Centre and can now offer their widely recognised courses directly. Our Fire Risk Assessment course has also received approval from the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) for the purpose of the Fire Risk Assessors and Auditors Register. This accreditation serves to assist our members in displaying their credentials to clients.
