Lighting management system firm Ex-Or won the £200 000 contract to supply, install and commission new lighting systems at the offices. The project involved the removal of existing luminaires that gave poor lighting and low control over the light levels and hours of use.
The Ex-Or Digital MLS lighting system has been installed throughout the two-storey building. This automatically delivers optimum lighting conditions to match those of the workspace and levels of natural light, hence the reduction in electricity use leading to the cost savings.
The system was chosen for its ability to respond to occupancy and ambient light levels. It also enables the reconfiguration of light levels, working zones and access routes without rewiring and can be used to override lighting for individual tasks.
Ex-Or replaced the existing lights with an integrated system of high frequency regulating luminaires controlled by the Ex-Or system. Using communicating presence detectors within each luminaire the occupancy levels are shared throughout the network; integral digital detectors also provide individual luminaires with daylight regulation.
