Developer Hammerson has picked the team for its high profile project at the former site of the London Stock Exchange.

The project manager is Second London Wall, part of property agent GVA Grimley.

Davis Langdon has been selected as QS and the contractor is expected to be Bovis Lend Lease.

The job, believed to be worth £150m, will transform two buildings, 60 Threadneedle Street and the former Stock Exchange Tower, into offices.

Second London Wall was chosen based on its performance as PM on Bishop’s Square, a Hammerson scheme completed in August, believed to have cost about £190m.

Vinod Thakrar, director of project management at Hammerson, said: “Second London Wall understood the work, were thorough and very demanding of the contractors and design team. We had never worked with them before, so it was a risky shout for us, but they did a good job.”

The office building at 60 Threadneedle Street, London EC2, is being designed by Eric Parry Architects and will occupy 20,600 m2. Plans include 18,900 m2 of office accommodation, 830 m2 of retail space and 870 m2 of storage.

The scheme is on the freehold site of the former London Stock Exchange buildings acquired by Hammerson in 2004.

Planning permission was won in August. Demolition is underway in preparation for the scheme.

The redevelopment adjoins the former Stock Exchange tower, now known as 125 Old Broad Street, which will be refurbished to create 31,400 m2 of office space and 600 m2 of retail space. The new 26-storey tower is being designed by architect GMW Partnership.
