Contractor Midas Projects has completed the second scheme of the Plymouth LIFT health programme.

The £13.2m Mount Gould Local Care Centre has been handed over on time after an 82-week construction programme and is due to officially open to patients in October. The 7,900 square metre centre, designed by architect Devereaux, includes 60 inpatient beds, a GP surgery, diagnostic services and outpatient clinics. The steel frame construction clad with brickwork and cedar includes a single membrane roof and curved windows. The building has been designed to offer “value for money” in long-term maintenance costs. Midas carried out the quantity surveying and project management of the scheme in-house.
