Philips’ LightMaster Modular lighting management system has been installed at 55 Baker Street, London, a mixed-use scheme with a BREEAM excellent rating.
The site, formerly HQ of Marks & Spencer, includes 79,000m2 of offices. Each of the building’s chilled beams houses six light fittings, giving a total of 22,000 luminaires across 16 floors. Each lighting control module is linked to four chilled beams per unit, while each beam is fitted with two presence detection and daylight control sensors. Mike Pile of Blyth+Blyth, consulting engineer on the project, said: “We have got not only an advanced lighting management system but one that can accommodate any changes in the future without incurring hefty reconfiguration expenses.”
