CCTV

A series of leisure centres operated by Leeds City Council have been fitted with comprehensive CCTV systems under a fast-track scheme designed to boost safety and security for staff and visitors.

Installer 2020 Vision has used Panasonic's 9-channel WJ-HD309 hard disk recorders complete with 250 Gb hard disks, LCD15 monitors, static WV-CF224 dome cameras and several Panasonic colour/monochrome fully-functional domes (WV-CW860). Norbain was the preferred supplier.

Monitoring takes place from each centre's Reception Desk during opening hours. Cameras continue to record out of hours so that any security incidents may be investigated.

Digital CCTV

One of the Uk's leading bus operators, Stagecoach plc, has awarded LOOK CCTV the UK's largest-ever single contract for digital CCTV systems.

The £1.2 million deal covers the installation of surveillance systems on 473 new single and double-decker buses from Optare, East Lancashire Coachbuilders and Alexander Dennis Ltd.

In addition to recording high resolution images for evidential purposes, the LOOK CCTV systems will also record brake and indicator actions made by the driver. Drivers can check that the cameras and recorders are operational at the beginning of a shift.
