I read with interest your news story in the February issue entitled “Unite rallies for greater worker protection.”

Unite believes that construction’s reliance on labour agencies is undermining national agreements, such as the JIB in the electrical industry.

The union must realise that this is no longer 1968. The JIB agreement reflects an industry that is long gone. Employers don’t want the hassle and the lads like the extra pay.
