The Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House Hotel was once again packed to the rafters for the 2006 Building Services Awards.

England may have been found wanting in the World Cup this summer, but the 2006 Building Services Awards found champions galore as the industry’s best gathered at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

Star of tv and screen, comedian Rob Brydon hosted the Awards night, which saw 17 winners emerge victorious. Balfour Kilpatrick picked up the gong for major m&e contractor of the year; Kier Building Services won the award for m&e contractors with less than £50 million turnover per year.

MJN Colston picked up two project awards: one for The Core at the Eden project and one for the National Assembly for Wales. Balfour Kilpatrick also won a second award for health and safety.

Clarkson Evans was the winner of the training award, Daniel Glew of Southern Electric Contracting was the one to watch and apprentice of the year was Timothy Hughes of W T Parker. Well done to all of the finalists and everyone who entered.
