OCS Technical, the engineering division of property support services giant OCS, has acquired ECA member Building Environmental Services (BES) for an undisclosed sum.

The deal is designed to strengthen and consolidate OCS Technical’s share of the m&e engineering marketplace.

BES, founded in 1984, has a turnover of £8.5 million. It focuses on the design, installation and maintenance of services within commercial and computer environments.

Chris Cracknell, chief executive of OCS said: “BES’s knowledge of specialist module equipment for air conditioning, uninterruptible power supplies and heat management for computer rooms, coupled with its client base, will enable the technical division of OCS to move forward considerably.

“The acquisition is not simply one company purchasing another, it is the joining together and sharing of cultures which will benefit customers and staff alike.”

Martin Lewis, managing director of BES, will remain with the company and manage the activities of the business. He will work closely with OCS Technical’s management to steer the company’s future development.
