Trevor Koch, who many in the industry will know through m&e contractor the RTT Group, very sadly died in March aged 63 after a long battle against cancer, writes his son Joe Koch.

He entered the industry as an electrical apprentice in 1965, working for Bowaters in Kemsley Mill. In 1970 he formed an electrical contracting business, with his brother Robert Koch and brother-in-law Terry Head, which later became known as RTT.

Trevor continued running the company after Terry retired in 2001, until RTT was forced into receivership in 2006, due to bad debts and trading difficulties with their new Israeli owners.

This setback did not deter Trevor, and he was able to buy two divisions from the receiver, transferring around 250 staff to the new company TSSR Group Holdings.

A very much loved husband and father, Trevor loved the industry, and is well known for his honesty and integrity. Within the ECA he served at many levels including Greater London regional chairman and Council member.

In the face of adversity, Trevor would always stand tall and his pride would shine through. He will be very much missed.
