The United Bristol heal healthcare trtust (UBHT) has been awarded a prestigious National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Premier Guarding Gold Award for its security officers.
This is the first time a hospital Trust has received the Premier level award in any of the NSI categories. The UBHT is also the first public sector organisation to gain this recognition for guarding and vetting.
During 2002-2003, the Trust’s security management team introduced a host of security initiatives, including bespoke CCTV, access control systems, an on-site police liaison unit and nationally-accredited security officer training. As a result, assaults and burglaries in the Bristol Royal Infirmary precinct have been drastically reduced.
As you can see, the Trust has now become the first in the country to pilot the introduction of mountain bikes and high visibility uniforms for officers so that they can reach incident scenes in quick time.
